Toby is a specialist timber floor coating brand with more than 25 years experience in the Australian market. Toby is the most recognised specialist brand in the timber floor coating trade and can be easily identified by its packaging, "the red can".

The timber floor coatings technology originated more than 25 years ago with an Australian company, Huntley, who later became known as Metchem. The products were sold under the Tarzan brand until the sale of the timber floor coatings technology to Toby Construction Chemicals in 1991. From this time the brand was known as Toby.

Later, Toby Construction Chemicals merged with Emery Coatings, to form Toby-Emery Coatings.
